Prehistoric Fish

A hybridized cross between the Coccosteus and the Dunkleosteus, with some artistic liberties taken of course.

Terror Bird!

Here's my take on the prehistoric species of giant flightless birds known as 'Terror Birds"
- technically known as Phorusrhacids. A bird so badass it could eat a horse, albeit a kind of small horse. But badass none the less!
ZBrush sculpt and render, composite and paint over in Photoshop.

Hellcat

Here's the third and final creature design created during Bryan Wynia's Online Creature Design Class.
The creature is what is known as a "Hellcat": a furiously sinister beast that stalks the underworld, devouring all of whom or what may cross it's path, living or dead!

Here's a clay render and some ZBrush screen grabs as well.........

Yeti Design

This is creature concept design of the mythical Yeti. Created while participating in Bryan Wynia's Creature Sculpting Workshop.

Final render, ZBrush sculpt, and working thumbnail explorations.

Here's my favorite thumbnails and the original speed sculpt designs, used for the paintover process.....

Admiral Wilfred P. Wafflebottom

Here's a model I created while participating in Michael Defeo's Online Zbrush Character Sculpting Class.
Michael provided us with a cafe sketch he did of an older man to use as a concept, and I took the concept in this direction, creating a bust sculpture of the infamous Civil War Admiral, Wilfred P. Wafflebottom.

Sea Creature

I've recently had the great pleasure of participating in Bryan Wynia's 3 Week Online Creature Sculpting Class. It was definitely time, effort and money well spent. So much so in fact, that I signed up for his 8 week class starting in a few weeks :) Here's the deep sea abomination I managed to come up with, for your viewing pleasure, or perhaps displeasure.......

LOTR: War In The North

I helped out a bit at Snowblind Studios last year, working on Lord Of The Rings: War In The North. Now that it's been released, I can show some stuff. Here's a character I was pretty happy with. Nicknamed the "Cave Slave", this character survives and thrives in the cavernous bowels of Carn Dum.

And some "hero" Orc helmet and weapon concepts, done in ZBrush......

Just another demon

I know, another creepy, bat like demon creature. A little cliche, I know. But it was so fun! And besides, when you are creating and designing creatures that have already been done so many times before, it forces you to step up and work at trying to make something commonplace look even cooler and more interesting. Hopefully I did that. Or at least sorta came close. Inspired by previous works from artists like Carlos Huante, Scott Spencer, Bryan Wynia and Katon Calloway. Sculpted and rendered in ZBrush.
